Compare: build in-house
Building your own platform buys total control and a multi-year engineering program. GameBridge buys a live brand in weeks on a core that is already hardened and running live brands. This page lays out the trade honestly, including the cases where building wins.
What each path actually requires.
Partial means the answer depends on what you need; we say so rather than round it up.
| Feature | Build in-house | GameBridge |
|---|---|---|
| Time to first bet | Build, harden, certify, then launch | 4–8 weeks typical on the launch program |
| Team required | PAM, payments, CRM, risk, data and platform engineers plus product, QA and DevOps | Your operations and marketing team; engineering is ours |
| Certification-ready RNG and dossier | Written and tested from scratch | |
| Money-path hardening | Your audit budget and calendar | Hardened in production: verified payment callbacks, retry-safe ledger, pre-open money audits |
| Ongoing compliance updates | Your roadmap competes with features | |
| Integrations already live | 22+ vendors | |
| Cost structure | Salaries and vendor contracts before revenue | Setup fee, tiered GGR share, platform fee |
| Ownership of brand and players | ||
| Ability to customize | ||
| Unique game mechanics as the differentiator | ||
| Exit and data portability |
Customization on GameBridge means 100+ per-brand settings, multiple UI themes and skins, CMS pages, the bonus and journey builders and exclusive GameBridge Studios titles; the core is configured, not forked. Exports cover reports (CSV/XLSX) and JSON definitions for bonuses, banners, packages, segments and campaigns.
Two cases where you should build.
If you are a regulated single-market operator at scale with a platform team already on payroll, the build is a continuation, not a start, and the control is worth it. If a game mechanic nobody else has is the core of your proposition, own the engine that runs it. GameBridge covers 22 slot archetypes and Originals; a genuinely novel mechanic is engineering work.
- Existing platform team, one regulated market, established rails and vendors
- A proprietary mechanic or format that is the business, not a feature
- Regulatory requirements that mandate specific certified components you already hold
- Everyone else: buy the core, build the differentiator on top
What in-house estimates usually leave out.
None of these are features. They are what it takes to make money paths boring, and what you would have to rebuild.
Money-path edge cases
Provider retries that must never double-pay, late webhooks that must not resurrect finished withdrawals, crash-stranded purchases that must self-heal, failed payouts that must refund in full.
The certification dossier
RNG documentation, PAR sheets with confidence intervals, reproducibility files and a submission handbook for GLI-11/19, BMM and iTech Labs, maintained across every math version.
Compliance drift
Consent per channel and vertical, suppressions with audit, responsible-gaming limits, geo with GPS re-check, four-eyes on comps, an Activity Log on everything. Each one is a project; together they are a department.
Vendor churn
Aggregators, payment rails, KYC, device intelligence, messaging and attribution change their APIs. Twenty-two integrations means twenty-two maintenance obligations.
The second brand
Multi-brand with complete player isolation, network defaults and per-brand overrides is an architecture decision made on day one, not a feature added in year two.
Operator enablement
Ninety-plus screens need documentation, role reading paths and a What's New feed, or the team you hired cannot use what you built.
Four questions technical buyers work through.
- Step 1Inventory the real scope
List every system a live brand needs: accounts, wallets, ledger, cashier, KYC, bonuses, CRM, VIP, risk, analytics, console, apps. Compare it to the 90+ operator screens and 48 player routes that exist today.
- Step 2Cost the calendar
Salaries, vendors and certification before the first bet, against a setup fee and GGR share that start when revenue does.
- Step 3Audit the money paths
Ask for the ledger design, retry-safe keys, payment callback handling and the audit history. Test them on a demo brand with test accounts.
- Step 4Decide what to own
Separate what must be yours, usually brand, players, game ideas and marketing, from what only has to work. Build the first; configure the second.
